“If you really want to make a friend, go to someone’s house and eat with him… the people who give you their food give you their heart.”
The Middletown Springs Building Committee is resurrecting the Town Meeting Food Sale and we need your help!
This is the kick-off to our goal of raising both money and awareness about the Town Office project. We are asking for your support, and hope that you will donate food for our sale. Soups, salads, chilis, breads, cakes, brownies, cookies, pies and all the traditional potluck fare are welcome.
Your donations can be dropped off at Town Meeting on Monday evening, March 4, or at the Historical Society dining room on Tuesday, March 5 after 9am. Arrangements can be made for pick up or alternative drop off as well. Call or email Patty Kenyon to make arrangements: (pmhkenyon@vermontel.net , 235-2707).
And for those who’d rather buy than bake? Hooray!
We invite you to come to the Historical Society dining room on Tuesday, March 5 from 9am to 7pm to sample some of the best cooking in all of Vermont. You can have breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even a snack or a cup of coffee with us, while you browse through our Information Stations, have your questions answered and get up to speed on the Town Office project. If you’re interested, we’ll even take you on a tour of the property.
Short on time? No problem, we’ll have take-out containers and a traditional bake sale set up as well. Rumor has it there will be good old fashioned mac & cheese, fresh chicken salad, Irish soda bread, and lots more of your old favorites… so you won’t want to miss it!
Safe storage for our town records and adequate work space for our town officers is our ultimate goal, and we’re hoping you’ll help the funding efforts one brownie at a time. All proceeds will go directly into the Town Municipal Facilities Fund.
Thanks in advance for supporting the building of our Town Office!

How much money was raised by the food sale for the Town Municipal Fund?
Ellen,
We took in $573.75!
Most of that was from sales, but somewhere around 7% -10% came from the donation jar.
We had very little food left at the end and what we did have helped to keep the ballot counters alert while they tallied the votes.
Thank you to all who donated food for the sale. Everything was delicious and your donations made the event a success!
And thank you to everyone who came to eat. Your contributions are very much appreciated. We hope you enjoyed the food.
David
