The Middletown Springs Building Committee is holding a special meeting on Saturday, November 23 from 10am to 4pm to help envision the future for the new town building that will sit at the corner of East and South Streets. This meeting will bring together a group of townspeople to brainstorm about the future and to explore what each participant thinks would constitute a successful outcome for a new building at the former Parker property. The session will be facilitated by committee members Kimberly Mathewson, Patty Kenyon & Maureen McCormack using the tools they learned in a Management & Planning Tools workshop they attended in September.
The intent is to gather information about what is important to townspeople as we move into the meat and potatoes of this project. The process is informal, relaxed, interactive and hands-on. It starts with a statement and a question. The statement looks to the future and a successful outcome and the question opens the door to all the possibilities.
The goal of the process is to produce a set of guiding principles that will be used as a basis for future planning. The results of this process will be shared with the larger community via Front Porch Forum, The Magnet, the Town website, at the Town Office and during a future town-wide meeting.
Can you volunteer 6 hours of your life to help us shape the town’s future building?
