First Day of School Celebration – Aug 31

by Middletown Springs on August 2, 2016

The school is being cleaned and prepped for the start of another school year. Once again, FFE is sponsoring a Community Breakfast that is open to all community members. I hope that you can join us at MSES on Wednesday, August 31 at 7:55am for the kickoff event.

School News

MSES had a great 2015-2016 school year. The school initiated Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional, and academic success. Students were recognized for demonstrating the school’s expectations of taking care of ourselves, others, and school property. The students earned tokens that were collected and “traded-in” for all-school celebrations of a positive and supportive school environment.

The students and staff participated in many other noteworthy events and activities. With support from the Friends for Education and the Vermont Arts Council, students had the opportunity to create and perform with marionettes. The students once again had an opportunity to go skiing, snowboarding, or ice skating. Our small school had four teams that participated in the state Odyssey of the Mind competition and did very well. These are examples of the learning that is happening at MSES.
