Community Action Preparedness Event (CAPE)

SAVE THE DATE - Saturday, July 18 from 2pm to 5pm (rain or shine)! Join us on the Town Green for the first ever Community Action Preparedness Event (CAPE)!

  • Are you prepared if an emergency happens? How resilient is our Town?
  • Ever wonder how you could be of help or how to get help if our town faces an emergency?
  • How do we help each other in emergencies large and small?
  • Do you know what a "Go Kit" is?
  • Do you have a First Aid kit in your home or car?
  • Have you used a fire extinguisher to put out a fire?

If you've ever asked yourself any of these questions, you are not alone. As a community how resilient are we, are we equipped to help each other out in the event of a disaster or emergency?

The CAPE event is focused on helping our community answer some of those questions while hanging out with your neighbors, enjoying some great food, and getting some hands-on experiences.

There will be amazing demonstrations (Jaws of Life, Stop the Bleed, Meshtastic Radio, Basic First Aid [for kids and adults], a chance to make your own first aid kit, chances to win emergency supplies, a community art table, and Free FOOD!

Come learn how you can be part of this grass roots response network. We believe that if we are better connected and have some strategic tools to help us communicate, we can be better equipped to address emergencies as they may arise.

The event it is sponsored by the Middletown Springs Volunteer Fire Department, the Middletown Springs Community Action Response Network (CARN), and is supported by a SPARK grant from the Vermont Community Foundation.

We hope you will join us for this important community event! If you can't make the event and would like to be on the list of people who can help out (hint - there are things EVERYONE can do to help!), take our survey to sign up - https://forms.gle/Nm2JJMnF5j9xFkjg8
