Located at 39 West Street, a short walk from the school and the town green, the public library is a community doorway to reading, resources and lifelong learning and a center for people, ideas and culture. With a part-time staff of two and a cadre of committed volunteers, the library provides this small town with big service.

The Library has an ever-changing and growing collection of books and movies, as well as a growing collection of “things.”

The Library of Things includes:

  • Activity kits for children and families
  • Board games
  • Jigsaw puzzle swap
  • Knitting needles
  • Cake pans
  • Lawn games
  • Snowshoes
  • VT State Park & Historical Site passes
  • Passes for free or reduced entrance to some area museums:
    • Wonderfeet Museum in Rutland
    • American Precision Museum in Windsor
    • Vermont History Society Museum in Montpelier
    • Shelburne Farms, in Shelburne
    • ECHO museum in Burlington
  • And MORE!

The library offers a rotating collection of Large Print Books and access to special recorded books for the blind & visual-impaired. As well as delivery for those temporarily or regularly housebound, please call the library at (802) 235-2435 for details.

The Children’s Area is stocked with wooden puzzles, puppets, and games available for youngsters and youth to play together in a quiet, relaxed space.

Public Access Computer with internet access, Microsoft Office and printing capabilities. The computer is available to patrons during all open hours, with a ½ hour time limit when others are waiting.

There is Wireless High Speed Internet Access available on library property 24/7.

Can’t find what you are looking for in this library? You can utilize our Inter Library Loan System and courier which provides patrons access to all libraries in Vermont. Most items will be received within 10-14 days of the patron’s request.

The Library regularly hosts various events and programs. Details of upcoming events are posted to Front Porch Forum, Facebook, and Instagram as well as the Town Calendar.
