Have you Registered your Dog? - Deadline is April 2nd!

The Dog Registration Deadline has been extended to Thursday April 2^nd!

This year the April 1 deadline falls on Wednesday, and the office isn’t open, so we’ve extended the deadline through Thursday, April 2^nd.

We’re in the final homestretch in our call for Dog Licenses. If you have a dog, please take a moment to get them registered at the Town Clerk’s office.

Vermont state law requires all dogs or wolf-hybrids 6 months or older be licensed with the Town Clerk on or before April 1 of each year or within 30 days of acquisition. Licensure requires that all dogs or wolf-hybrids over the age of 3 months have a current rabies vaccination. Certification of vaccination must be on file with or presented to the Town Clerk at the time of registration.

Did you know that State registration fees go directly to animal support systems, rabies prevention, and spay and neuter clinics around the state.

Registration Fees thru April 2, 2026
Neutered or Spayed - $11.00
Not Neutered or Spayed - $15.00

Registration Fees starting April 3, 2026
Neutered or Spayed - $13.00
Not Neutered or Spayed - $19.00

If your schedule just doesn't fit the clerk's office hours, you can still get your pet registered. You can mail your payment, rabies certificate, and other pertinent information to the Town Clerk at PO Box 1232, Middletown Springs 05757 or drop your information into the “Clerk’s Dropbox” outside the South Street entrance of the new town office and I will complete the registration and mail you back the license(s) and tag(s).

One final note: The Town Office will be CLOSED on Monday, March 30, 2026. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Please plan accordingly.
